You mean a metaphysical or spiritual journey? A physical journey would be one like "Graceland" by Paul Simon or "Me And Bobby McGee" as sung by Janis Joplin where the singer is traveling to a destination.

"Life By The Drop" by Stevie Ray Vaughan
"53rd & 3rd" by The Ramones
"Chinese Rock" by The Ramones
"Dirty Blvd." by Lou Reed (in fact give Lou's entire album "Magic & Loss" a listen-it deals with his struggle to cope with the deaths of two friends).

A bit more fictious acounts of people's lives:

"When I Paint My Masterpiece" by Bob Dylan
"Tangled Up In Blue" by Bob Dylan
"Friend Of The Devil" by The Grateful Dead
"Wharf Rat" by The Grateful Dead
"City Of New Orleans" by Arlo Guthrie (if you consider railroads as people).
