No I don't think they are mean and I don't think they are telling me what they think I want to hear. They are telling me what they are comfortable telling me. Whether that be the truth or whatever. People can only be as honest with me as they are with themselves at any given second. So if they are lying to themselves, how can I expect them to tell me the truth??

I do not think that people are mean for not telling me what I want to hear.
I feel that it is better to tell the truth. In all honesty that is what I want. Even when I do not immediately appreciate hearing it. That is what I want.
Telling me what I want to hear may not be what I need to hear.

no. just the opposite. i think people would be mean if they always/only told you what you wanted to hear. You can't really care about someone if you don't tell them the truth when they need to hear it. I can't stand butt kissers and sycophants; they are a waste of my time and they are of no use to me, and i will not have them either counted among my friends, or on my team. â¥
*edit* somtimes a 'rebuke' saves a life, you know? i prefer honesty, even if it's not what i necessarily want to hear. I want to hear their honest opinion, not have them agree with me on everything! What if i'm wrong, then what does it profit me for you to agree with me? Right? Even if i'm right, i want your honest opinion. â¥

I don't think so, if a person is telling you the truth which hurts sometimes but you don't wanna hear it, it doesn't mean that he is mean.
Also people are different and they think differently.

Oh no, not at all, everyone is entitled to his own opinion, you get it straight from their mouths, so whatever you get as answer, think it as their own sharing, their own mentality but you cant say they are mean, even those who make ugly remarks, or bitchy remarks as what others term it. you can't even despise them, that is their style to attack a question, and mind you we are all different so we have different opinions, unless the question is common to all..............but the way of imparting it is what makes the difference....so just have fun and listen even to those you don't want to hear!!!be positive!!
