A teacher reprimanded my 5 yr old for playfully kicking her sister after school. According to my daughter in HS,the teacher was nose to nose and toe to toe with my 5 yr old while yelling and pointing. My HS daughter tried to remove my 5 yr old from the hostile situation when the teacher touched both of my daughter's and snatched their hands apart. My 5 yr old was 'bout in tears. I requested a meeting, documentation of the purpose of the meeting, and an apology. The Principal promised to take care of this and has failed. I now get the run around and or she's too busy. I am in the process of writing a letter to the Superintendant or should I address the board?
This happened a month ago and last night my 5 yr old daughter said to me, "I'm still mad at that teacher for yelling at me, I want God to punish her." It bothers me too. I feel my children were violated and I wasn't there to protect them. The school encourages respect, responsilbility, being safe and kind. NOT! What should I do?

I corrected my daughter and explained that under no circumstances is she to kick anyone not even her sister. We had a meeting in which I gave the teacher an opportunity to tell her side. She admitted to it. The Principal said the teacher would apologize but she didn't.

Get over it, you shouldn't teach your daughter to side step her problems and blame someone else.

Call the superintendent and make an appointment to see him in person. Be prepared to explain why your 5 year old playfully kicked her teacher`s sister. From what your 5 year old said about wishing God would punish her teacher it sounds like she has a little playful hostility in her. If you do not get any satisfaction out of meeting with the school Superintendent then call the school board president and tell him what happened. If he can not work things out to your satisfaction then the only thing left would be a civil lawsuit which would be expensive and hard to win even if you went to that extreme. I think I would leave things alone as is and talk to my 5 year old daughter about being nose to nose and toe to toe with her teacher or any other person in authority. I do respect you for defending your children and their rights.

Ever hear of a lawyer? Get one. Tell him to contact the school. That teacher is guilty of verbal abuse of your child and you and your children should be protected. You can also contact child protective services and ask them for advice. If all else fails, go to your local authorities and lodge a formal complaint.

It would also probably be best if your 5 year old was removed from that class and placed elsewhere if possible. That teacher sounds like she should not be anywhere near your child. If I were you I'd be mad enough to raise hades.

As the child has not forgotten!!!
Never should a student be touched without permission.

I feel it needs to be addressed.

Schedule a meeting with both the teacher and Principal.
Do this without any child involved.
Don't tell them you are meeting with them.

DO NOT GO ALONE!!!

Do not let them intimidate you!!!

No results, move up the chain of command!!!

Go all the way. Take it as high up as you have to for the children's sake. This teacher undoubtedly has done this on more than one occasion or something similar. So she was actually abusing them the way i see it. You have a great deal of patience waiting for someone to do something. It won't happen, take the bull by the horns and do what you must for your kids and all kids.
