Hello!

I recently purchased a second hand ruby ring. I noticed when I got home the inside of the band read "14K EMA." I was told it was solid 14K gold.

I have also heard that if there are 3 letters following the karat mark, then it stands for something, and usually something meaning plated, filled, hollow, etc.

Does anyone know what the EMA means? I have to know before I return it so I can state my case if it's not solid gold. Otherwise they will just give me a credit, and not a full refund.

Can anyone tell me what EMA means? Please? I only have 5 days left to return it!

There is a NY company named EMA Jewelry; not sure if it is still in business.

I think most likely it is the manufacturers mark. Take it to any good jeweller, they will probably tell you right off.

EMA is a New York maker/seller. The gold in your ring is solid and true 14kt.
