hi Kelly,
That is exactly what we are. We are spirit temporarily in human form and when we die, the spirit goes on and the human form dies. I don't know why the others don't understand this. It is the same with how we think, our brain will die off but our mind goes on forever.
If we were just human, we would only care about eating, reproducing and comfort, yet we have deeper concerns like sympathy, unselfishness, love and loyalty to other's spirit.
Why would we have these feelings towards another's human form.

Well, you see, If ALL man kind isn't human, but rather spiritual beings having human experiences, then what is being human if no one is human but Spiritual beings, then the human experience would not exist or would it? We experience spiritual things because there are spiritual beings, so does that mean that there are some human beings causing us spiritual beings to have human experiences?
We are Spirit Body and soul.

Warning: Philosophy is great fun, very stimulating and very hard to make a living with.
OK, additional questions would be if we are humans having spiritual experiences do we recognize the experiences as spiritual? Then when we die do we as humans cease to exist? If we are spiritual beings living human experiences how do we recognize the experiences as human? Then what does it mean (and how do we know) to be human. Is it possible there are humans and others among us are spiritual beings living as humans?
Finally, the underlying unspoken assumption in your question is one of dualism. You are stating with your question that one is either a human or a spiritual being living either a spiritual or human experience. I would argue this assumption and say that we are both human and spiritual beings that are living both a spiritual and human experience.
What if: It makes no real difference to me in the way I live my life. I will continue to be kind and as good as I can to others and love those that are close to me. I will continue to pursue knowledge of the universe and of human/spiritual experiences. So from my life's perspective it doesn't matter.
I continue to live my life as if I were both because that is my choice.

Well, I believe we are spiritual beings having human experiences. It's not a "what if", that's exactly what it's all about! Evidence of such is life after death as experienced by some among us who've had near-death experiences. Or documented cases where people have memories of past lives. Some have been witnessed as speaking a foreign language fluently when regressed by hypnosis to remember past lives and when in the normal, waking state, these individuals have no knowledge of said language they were just seen speaking. This present life is but one dimension, and I sense deeply there are many more!

We all have a life force that is as old as the universe and beyond. The time I had that you know about told me we are building the next home as we live our lives here. My Journey took me to that place and I saw where bad people go. I must have lived a good life and love the home I have built. The living here and suffering as I help others is not so bad. I get great satisfaction from helping others, knowing that I have a great home to go to when I die; I have seen it and it was the most fascinating place I have ever seen. And the feeling was beyond compare when I lost the weight of earthly bounds.
Yes we are spirits living here for a short while compared to the age of the universe. is very short indeed. I think one day we will find out for sure. For all those who do not believe, man are they going to be shocked. We are in charge of our own destiny, the human body we occupy is only a shell that we need to be here. People are skeptical about these things and I also used to be but now I know what it is to die and we are in charge of building the next home as we do good or bad things. I have done good things and cannot wait to go to that home I was assured.

I can go with that! That fits into my theory of god, the universe, and everything!
Even better, how do we know that we are! We could be just some weird random side effect of an energy discharge in the void of space. Never to be repeated again, and gone in a millisecond, that just seams like an eternity.

Hey Kelly! I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I think we are spirits in a body. But, we are kinda "trapped" in our bodies. If we leave..then our body dies. (except I don't understand how our bodies keep going when /if we "astral travel") So..it must be our body that lets our spirit live here. I guess if we're not in our body..then we are here in our spirit. Maybe when we don't have our body anymore...we have to get another body in order to participate in the world. Maybe that's why some people get "possessed". Maybe possession isn't always from a bad spirit.Of course..if people give a spirit permission to "use" their body..then it's not "possession". You know when you say something that you know isn't you? Maybe you're letting a spirit pass through you and use you. Maybe sometimes a female spirit might want to know how it feels to be a man...and they get into a man's body.(so they can experience what a man feels).
Ok...I'm gettin into "stinkin' thinkin""...thinking TOO MUCH ! LOL

I saw that movie. I think it was called "The Others"
The kids were seeing ghosts and weird activity was happening around the house and in the end they find out that they are dead, and that the living people are what they are seeing.
It was a good film. If you haven't seen it, I guess I just ruined it on you, sorry.

Really that is a well thought out question.
Testing what we "think" we know & showing there may be another possiblity.
Thats very interesting!!

kel333...how about you stop copying other people's quotes; "spiritual beings having human experiences". Try being a bit original.
