GNR only used the orchestra twice. The video and the MTV music awards. It isn't mentioned who the director of the orchestra is but I thought I heard it was the USC orchestra.

i'm pretty sure it's Michael Kamen...
i searched the net, too, to see if it was him and i couldn't find anything that said it was. but i think i remember an Mtv News piece about it when the video was new and that it was him. i'm sure i have that on tape somewhere, i used to love GnR! : )
