I am very sensitive to drugs. I have a prescription filled twice a year for alprazolam (generic for xanex). The prescription I filled a month ago, does not help/work at all. It's like placibo. I know the medication still works for me because I had a few left from last time. When I take a 1/2 of one of those, it works just fine. I don't where to begin....do I go back to the doctor & explain to him or do I go to the pharmacist & explain to them. Thank you for your input.

Hi Carol, I would talk to your doctor, AND the pharmacist to see whats going on because if the other ones from your previous prescription are working, then it does sound like the one you have now could be defective. I really hope this does not happen often, that would not be good!!! I would consider looking into changing your pharmacist. But find out what happened first...definatly talk to your doc about the problem, and it sound like you could have a lawsuit if they gave you the wrong meds!!!!

You look at the lable on each bottle to see WHO THE MANUFACTURER is of each set of pills and then request your pharmacist not to supply you with pills from the drug company of the pills that were not effective.

This does happen. Go back and confront the pharmacy.

If they don't do anything, then go to your doctor.
