The Arimaspians were a one-eyed people of Scythia. A Greek poem gives an account of their waging war for gold with the griffins who guarded it.

In Greek and Roman mythology, all of the Cyclops were giants. Hollywood invented the man-sized ones. (cheaper special effects!)

A cyclops is a cyclops no matter what size that it is. As long as it only has one eye.
