.. not getting sensible answers when you try to ask about the quality of said software ?
1. You would hope that "developement" commenced with a system "under survey" and that it remained "under survey" throughout the development. What do you do if you ask about bugs in the system and how they got there and how the system could possibly have been under survey and you're told it wasn't actually under survey throughout the development "but few systems are".
2. You would hope there is an audit trail of all changes to operational software. Each change needs to be "provably correct", and you need to know that all purported changes actually occurred, and no other changes occured. What do you do if there's no audit trail of changes ?

Reject them on the basis that safety is indeed your priority and that you are not 100% confident in the product. Explain the customer service was unsatisfactory and the product did not meet your standards in clarity and demonstrated efficiency.

I think yahoo is doing a good job in there software.I wish I understood you better or I guess I shouldn't be answering questions that are over my head but I hope it doesn't bother you if I keep on trying

make a matrix of the 'now' the 'proposed' and the desired. The comparison should be evident and the testing required obvious.
