I have always had a tickling fetish, and there were girls I went to grade school with who I really wanted to tickle or at least know if they were ticklish on their feet. But I was an outcast and too timid to grab the girls and tickle them because they would probably have somebody beat me up.

I had this idea recently of using one of those "people search" websites, find these girls I went to school with and basically say "I always had a tickling fetish and always wanted to know how ticklish your feet are, so how ticklish are they", and give my return mailing address in case they choose to respond.

Firstly would I be looking at any legal consequences if they got offended, (these women will probably barely remember me if at all since I'm 34 now)? And if not legal consequences, how likely is it that if they got offended they'd send someone to beat me up (maybe in that case I should get a PO Box for my return address)?

While it is highly unlikely that you would be in any legal trouble for sending such a letter, it is very likely that you would scare, upset or make some (if not all of them) nervous and it is very unlikely that they would reply to you. It is also very likely that they will share this information with mutual friends or their significant others.

Instead, seek them out for friendships if you are truly interested in a friendship. If you reestablish a strong friendship with one or more of them and you have been chatting with them for several months (long enough to build a real friendship), then you can casually mention that you always had a fantasy when you were in school and share your fantasy with them to feel them out. DO NOT tell them that you have a tickle fetish and do not force anything on them. If they are comfortable discussing it with you, they will. If not, they will let you know and you need to respect their decision.

Good luck and I wish you all the best.

If you were to phrase such a letter sufficiently casually, I doubt anyone would have a violent reaction. Someone might if you come off as intense as you do here. But if I were to receive a letter that came across as the result of a casual whim, (and perhaps not being too explicit) I might or might not choose to reply, but I'm pretty sure, especially if it seemed that the whole thing would be over if I just tossed the letter, I should not follow up on it. Some people like running into someone from the past, even if the source of renewed interest does not turn out to be a shared enthusiasm.

Uh......yeah.....definitely drop this idea. When you send anything in the mail, you risk getting the feds involved and YES, someone could take great offense to this and take it to the police. If you look up the legal definition of harassment, what may seem "innocent" to you may not be to someone else and if they take great offense to this, you may find yourself in a courtroom over it, particularly since the whole thing would be in writing with your return address on it (not gonna bs your way out of that one).

You'd be better off either just asking them in person or if you want to be sneaky, instead of mailing a letter call them from a pay phone and just ask them anonymously. That way it can't be traced back to you if they take offense to it. I do agree with the other posters though that this is very odd, I'd just keep this to myself honestly and not contact any of these girls you have in mind.
