You may not like this answer but 'needs to be said.
Maybe your Mom has a point. I'm assuming you know she loves you and she really does have your best interest at heart. She's not trying to be arbitrary; she's taking a longer range view. That's the thing about us adults, you may not realize it but we were your age once also and we had lots of things we wanted to do back then. We've lived a lot since. Does that make us "smarter", not necessarily. But it does make us wiser. Maybe your Mom is using the wisdom from her years since high school.
All of the things you are talking about are PERMANENT. I know they make you happy today but how will you feel about them when you are 25? 30? How about 50? I know that sounds a lifetime away but guess what, chances are you will live well past that. If you really want the tattoos, go talk to the people who had them removed. Maybe they will tell you the pros and cons of getting them in the first place.

As long as you are living in her house, with parents paying the bills and buying the food and you are under their insurance, you are under her rules and should postpone any tats or piercings.
When you move into your own place, by all means, you can do what you want without her being able to say anything.

I wanted to do that a few years ago, but I regret it now, I say wait a year or tow more and see it you still want that tatoo or peircing, mom might be happier then. You are more likely to be secessful in life without them anyway

If you love your mom find a happy medium. A couple Tats. A couple piercings. A piercing is something you can always do away with later.

Hello there!
I think if they're religious there's a point of respect towards parents. Otherwise, if you're not a minor anymore you can do pretty much anything. Baby steps, you know?
Hope things fall into place....
TC!
