What do you think - if we stop fighting in the Middle East - will there be an increase in attacks on US friends and possibly on US soil?

Yes....I do not know your age but I'm guessing your fairly young, otherwise you would be aware of the fact that terrorists have been attacking the US and it's allies long before many of us were born.
You could easily find this out yourself with a little research.
Try typing this in your search engine:" How many terrorists attacks have there been worldwide since 1970"
Then read and learn for yourself.
You might even discover why they hate us and why they will continue ti attack all westerners.

Possible! If we are attacked again, whether a republican or democrat is in office, I hope we change our goal in this war. This war is being fought for the benefit of corporate America & the wealthy of our nation. If we are attacked again we should fight to WIN. Fight with all our might. Fight to show the aggresor that it was a mistake to f**k with America. This president stood in front of the American people & declared that the nation responsible for this dastardly attack on America will not go unpunshed. Low & behold, 19 of the attackers were Saudi's. That ended that blowhard idea. This war turned into a windfall for the wealthy elite of the world. The sad part of it is we used our blood to pursue the dream of corporate America & the world(mideast oil barons). We must throw off the yoke of corporate America. While we still have the ability to vote for our government officials we must replace the lackeys of wealth in our congress. They do not represent you or me or anbody but MONEY. To preserve our way of life as we know it we must make a change!

I don't think it will. I think that if we leave Iraq, a civil war will break out which will eventually lead to a regional, religious was within Islam. Sooner or later someone will invade Iraq, be it Iran, Saudi Arabia, or another Middle East country and then a country from the opposing side of Islam (Shi'te and Sunni and before you know it, everyone in the middle east, even the terrorist are fighting that war and have at least taken the focus off of us.

Its just one possibility but a very likely one.

I don't think the terrorists care what we do, they just want to kill people. All we can do is pray and stay alert.

Not if we pay enough in tribute.

It's been working this way for thousands of years of human history.
