with playstation and nintendo and all these video games and computers games, has the days of the family or friends sitting at the table playing board games gone now for ever?

Yes, we still play board games. We sit around the coffee table and play Clue, Yahtzee, Monopoly, chess, checkers, Scrabble, Mancala, Battleship, Uno... (not at the same time....)

I admit it's sometimes hard to pull my son away from Halo 3, etc. But, once we start to play the games, he has a great time.

We seem to get back in the groove of playing board games around the holiday time when we find we are all around and we can all stay up late to play. Then we carry it on for a while but eventually go back to the more secluded routine of electronic toys.

Occasionally I do. I don't play video games though. I never really got into them.However, my mom supposedly bought the Nintendo for her grand kids at the time. But she was the first to save the Princess in Mario one. She still plays and she's 78. My mom ya gotta love her.

I love board games, scrabble is my favourite....but you're right it's very hard finding someone to play the games with.

I miss those days! Unfortunately most of my friends don't share these feelings, (well, one of them likes Scrabble) but I miss board games as well.

Yep, we play games all the time. Scrabble is the fave - challenges the mind....we also play Monoply, Sorry and backgammon alot too :)
