I think that happiness is different for everyone. Happiness for me would involve having my children be happy and healthy adults. I would also include the need to find relief from my depression. What I need might not be what someone else needs.

Happiness is mostly dependent on happenings. It's mostly an outer, circumstantial thing.
Joy is what you can have regardless of circumstance. It is an inner thing.
