Yes you can. All states have laws that cover this exact scenario... there are just timeframes that vary. Like you may have to wait an extra year and show proof that you have made attempts to contact your ex.

Better speak to your lawyer because he should be advising you on the divorce. Probably you can get information directly from Family Court as to how one proceeds when one person cannot contest the action, if you do not have a lawyer.

it's not very likely. i think that s/he would need to sign some papers first. you can't really divorce someone without them knowing....
