Rudolph William Louis Giuliani III is an interesting character.

His father, Harold Angel Giuliani spent time in Sing Sing prison for felony assault and robbery.

He dodged the draft.

As district attorney of New York, he would arrange public, high profile arrests of people and let them go for the news coverage.

As mayor of New York, he attatched his name to NYC police commissioner Bill Bretton's clean streets campaign, then forced him out when Bretton recieved national attention. When Giuliani took over the campaign, misconduct, abuse, and even murder became common in the NYC police department.

A national drop in crime and age of prosperity under Clinton was responsible for the crime drop in NYC under Giuliani. The former mayor knowingly took credit for it anyway.

Supports gay rights, gun control, and abortions.

He tried to cancel elections.

In the eight years prior to 9/11, he took practically no precautions for a response to a terrorist attack even after the 1993 bombing of the WTC.

He has been slammed by the International Firefighters Association for his "egregious acts" against the firefighters that died in 9/11.

He ignored air quality concerns during the clean up and corporate use of the area at and around ground zero. Today over 7,000 suffer from health conditions, many as drastic as cancer and rare blood conditions, because of his deliberate oversight.

Well known Iraq War and Bush & Cheney, Co. cheerleader.

Broke up with his wife on television to marry his mistress.

Has won three Muzzle awards and a lifetime Muzzle for "stifled speech and press to so unprecedented a degree, and in so many and varied forms, that simply keeping up with the city's censorious activity has proved a challenge for defenders of free expression."

Yep; Vast majority is absolutely true. He's a social liberal and his personal life is an even bigger freak show than the Clintons. He's taken more credit than he deserves for accomplishments while he was mayor of NYC; And never taken responsibility for many of the mistakes of that time. He's everything Republicans have claimed opposition to for the last 25 years; But like the hypocrites the GOP are, They are going to nominate him anyway just because they see he has the best poll #'s. But as the bible says; "For what is a man profited; If he should gain the whole world, Yet lose his soul?"

I hope they nominate him and lose anyway. They deserve it; Both for selling out for the hope of holding power and how horribly they've abused the power they've had the last 7 years...

Guiliani said on ABC news, he knew the twin towers were going to collapse, even though no steel building ever fell in a fire before or after 9-11-01.

He won't say who warned him. Isn't that protecting the terrorists? Couldn't he be found guilty after the fact of mass murder unless he testifies who warned him?

...Rudy Giuliani’s problematic response to a group of activists who asked him, with camera running, how he knew that the Twin Towers were going to collapse. (He had told Peter Jennings on ABC News on 9/11 itself that he had been warned.) Given the fact that he Giuliani is currently the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, evidence that he had inside information on the collapse of the towers---an event for which there was no historical precedent---should certainly be investigated.

Yes, the qualities that Pat Robertson admires
Just another 'little thing' to throw in the mix is who is 'in bed with him', or more accurately the interests that are 'making his bed' and that he will most likely listen and cater to if he's elected. In my opinion, one of his most repugnant bed-fellows is Paul Singer.

Paul Singer is a billionaire who's made all his money from 'vulture funds', one of the vilest forms of exploitation. These funds prey on the poorest of Third World nations by buying their debt cheap, then suing for 10+ times the amount. The result is that future (taxpayer-funded) aid, instead of going towards the needs of the impoverished, goes straight into the pockets of the ones who bought up the loans... thus the term "vulture fund".

Singer has been a very big donor to the Republican Party and to Bush's campaign. Now he's pledged to raise $15 million for Giuliani. Bush did nothing at the G8 Summit to stop vulture funds. Want to bet that, with Singer lining Rudy's pockets, he won't do anything to stop vulture funds either?

as a neutral observer (not from the States) I have to wonderjust how much of this is pre-election smear by his opponents. I don't doubt that there is some sort of truth within these statements and can't really comment further about that without a little more research although, one or two of the facts presented here really have nothing to do with a persons political abilities. All this really shows to me is that Guiliani's team haven't been as good at dirt-digging as their counterparts.

As a true Hillary supporter, I really do hope that Giuliani gets the nomination because Hillary will knock the stuffing out of his campaign.. About all this negative talk about Giuliani, as some say about the Clintons, he will find a way to wiggle his way out of this mess and again fool a whole lot of people who are gullible enough to believe him.

He will win because Conservative voters are too obsessed with seeing that Hilary does not win. They could care less about the background of Giuliani just as long as they are convinced that he can beat Hillary.

Just like you Enigma, man makes a few mistakes and you want to tie him to the whipping post. Naw kidding. I figured as much, but that is interesting that it comes from Wik. Thanks for the news, we may be moving closer to a real republican and democrat.

Why hasn't the media jumped on it? During senate race they were all over him, are they wanting him to run against Hillery? In a rematch to lose? Take care.

I don't care what his father did. Attending college was a valid draft deferment, not draft-dodging. And few people would call him a Bush/Cheney cheerleader. But the rest is quite troubling.

I agree with Michael M, if Rudy wins the Republican premise, then he has no chance win against either Hilary or Obama.

To answer the question, Rudy is not a good person. I will never vote for him

Ron Paul is our only hope!!! My Republican fellow, vote for Dr. Paul.
