On a nature show they showed an eagle scoop up a kid goat, estimated to weigh 19 pounds. The eagle did this with ease.
Condors have a bigger wing span but they just don't seem to be as energetic as the smaller eagle.
There is a flying bird in Africa which is the heaviest flying bird but I figure that they are probably too fat to carry much cargo.
The largest flying bird ever is estimated to have weighed 1100 pounds, one of those dinoseur type birds I guess. There were no humans around then to ride on them but maybe it would have worked.
Off hand my guess is, no.

It's possible, were they numerous enough and particularly cared to, Andean or California condors would be able to carry something the weight of an adult human on their backs. Golden Eagles and other large birds of prey have been frequently cited as lifting children some feet off the ground before dropping them. These birds of prey are nowhere near to condor-sized.
Argentavis magnificens is an extinct relative of the condor which had a wingspan the size of a Cesna plane. It could easily have carried a human on its back, as it rode the thermals in the Argentina of paleontology.
There is also the (completely fictional, as far as we know) Rok of middle eastern folklore.

A Griffin... (does anyone know what a Griffin is... look it up people...plus hypothetically speaking, big birds' wings are too weak to even take off in flight, plus he's fat...)

No...I mean, you could sit on an ostrich's back, but they can't fly...even though they're birds...
