Listen to your teacher.
Read your textbook.
Ask questions about operations you don't at first understand.
Do all the assigned exercises.
When you get a wrong answer, bo over the problem to find your error. If you can't find the error by yourself go over the problem with your teacher or someone who got the right answer.
Be patient. The A's will come when you have established these habits.

Listen to your teacher.
Raise your hand to answer your teacher's questions.
Participate in class.
At home, practice on your own or with a friend.
Lots and lots of practice.
Relax, do not cram before the exams. You have been practicing and studying before the exams --believe that your investment will pay-off.
Search the web (wikipedia.org) if you have more questions.
