For the same reason they make fun of Americans, British people, women, men, African Americans, Caucasians, Conservatives, Liberals, and just about every other group or sub-group out there. This is life, it happens. More on Y!A than anywhere else I've seen.

my best friend is a vegetarian and I make fun of her all the time..thats just because I love her..and I can.. just kidding..
thats the way life is..someone is always making fun of another person because their ways are different.
One time my veg. best friend got in a car wreck and she called me from her cell phone crying about how much this was gonna cost her and she was going to have to live on .25 hamburgers at mcdonalds and roman noodles..because she wouldnt be able to afford her vegetarian food anymore..lol..

I don't know exactly. I think, just like any other difference, some people can get to overboard about their way of life. There are some Vegans who are just so in your face type people. I personally could care less what people eat, just don't try and get me to see it your way by forcing it upon me.

my sister, husband and kids are vegans... i don't make fun of vegans but i think vegetarians are made fun of because the ones i know are weird and are like hippies, saying don't harm this and dont' wear anytype of animal. most are rude and think they are better than everybody. i ain't sayin that all of them are, just most

i dunno cause meat is seen as a manly food and ppl who don't eat it esp. guys are seen as less manly..and there are more meat eaters than vegetarians/vegans...And people are just plain sad and will make fun of anyone for any reason

Because they're different With the way they eat..so some people find it funny..idk I know i don't It wouldnt matter to me if you ate meat or not.

i dont know man. i get a lot of **** for it cause im a vegerarian. 'dirty hippy' etc etc. i dont care though its stupid its a personal choice and its not affecting anything profoundly if anything its for the better.
theyre probably just on a guilt trip.
