i think this society is getting too PC. It's beyond ridiculous now. What's next? Santa can't wear red and white because the white is after labor day? The Easter Bunny is now pornographic because he doesn't wear pants? Oh wait don't forget the tooth fairy - she flies into kids windows at night to leave them money for body parts - that has to be wrong. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! We've become a nation bent on tearing down others in the name of freedom. What a crock. If we allow this to happen ... then it will only get worse. Maybe they will cancel Christmas altogether - after all not everyone celebrates the same way and some people might find the way others do it offensive. Let's just cancel it all. Merry Christmas - oh wait can't say that anymore because it might offend someone. Seasons Greetings - wait that offends me because i no longer have freedom of speech to say Merry Christmas. Bah Humbug then - and HO HO HO!!!!!!!!

This is a ridiculous notion, and even employees at the stores affected by it have said so. I'm a woman, and am in NO WAY offended by SC saying "hohoho."
What's worse, is that it's going to confuse children who are used to hearing "hohoho." Now, when Santa goes "hehehe" or whatever crap they're having him say, parents are going to have to deal with questions that never would have been raised otherwise.
Crazy, crazy overreaction.

I think it is absolutely crazy that they are changing something that is so well known, because they believe it might offend some women. I am not offended by Santa's LAUGH. He is not directing it at anyone to try and call them a ho. It is a part of Christmas that Santa laughs that way. Here in Canada it is even the postal code for when you are mailing Santa's letter HOH OHO now they are going to have to change that I'm sure, and it is all competely rediculous and it is the change that offends me not the traditional ways.

I have been donning the red suit and hat for well over 30 years now and never had anyone get offended when I said "Ho! Ho! Ho!" It's Santa's way of laughing and saying hello. It's about time the Political Correctness Police step back and realize just how stupid they look when they attack a centuries old symbol of the Holidays! Besides, who appointed them the overseers of life? Maybe, it's time for me to check my list for 'Naughty', 'Nice' and 'PC'. And those on the PC list get a big lump of coal!

I agree, we have thousands of people dying from all sorts of war and hunger and all some people can worry about is whether what santa says is politically correct. I used to have a great deal of respect for Australia but somebody down there has their head up their a$$.

Maybe we should call santa "Festively large individual who is seasonally challenged!" These days people are offended by everything! If santa brings the goodies, let there be as much HO HO HO as santa likes!! The term, "ho" is dumb...Why not change "penalized?" or "pus$y willow?" or "private dick?"
Ho
Ho
Ho

The last I heard of this, the reason they were asked to stop it was because it was frightening little children and wasn't connected to the current sexual connotations that go with the term 'ho'. I think it is the biggest load of tripe I have ever heard, I was more scared of his red suit and white beard when I was a kid. I guess that will be next to go.

i ABSOLUTELY agree! santa should be allowed to say all the ho ho ho' s he wants! isn't he only allowed to say hahaha now? so what next...are they going to outlaw that for mocking ppl? The media has gone overboard with this. first no wishing ppl merry christmases, ( i kind of understand THAT) but santa saying ho ho ho...that's just TOO MUCH!!! so much for a free society when an imaginary character can't even say the words they've been saying for the past century
