No....(or at least not necessarily) Microwave safe, doesn't mean oven safe...unless it is Pyrex or corning ware or something similar

Not necessarily - microwave resistant doesn't mean heat resistant. The only source of heat in a microwave is the food contained in a dish, not going to heat up the dish as drastically as an oven.

If it only says microwave oven safe and not oven safe-don't put them in your regular oven. They may not be able to withstand the heat produced by the oven. Take care.

no microwave safe is not oven safe...oven heats hotter microwave you can put plastic in you cannot with an oven

NO.

Self-cleaning ovens use extreme heat to clean. Microwaves ovens do not generate that much heat.

Unless the plates are stoneware or other material of that nature, and say Oven safe, I wouldn't recommend it.
