You say you have the deed to the house.

You need to go to the County Recorder's Office immediately and record that deed.
If you record the deed that you say they gave you, that will put the title to the property in your name.

In order to transfer title the previous owners would have had to sign the deed and record it in county records. Did you have a written contract with them that spells out the terms and conditions of the transaction? or was it a verbal agreement? If you paid good and valuable consideration and they are refusing to transfer title then I would contact and attorney to explain the saturation right away.

Did you get title insurance at time of closing? You should never have closed without getting the title free and clear. What is your agent and attorney saying about this? They should have advised you about this. Even if you did a FSBO you would have needed an attorney - correct? So you need to talk to him/her & find out what your recourse is. It sounds like you have a very serious problem. You can't turn around and sell this house later because legally its not yours - even with a receipt.

Go immediately an attorney. It sounds like they are stringing you along.

My God, did you buy this without a real estate agent? You should have opened an escrow account with a title company and had them be the neutral stakes holders. They would have transferred title and issued the closing check to the sellers.

Sounds like you tried to do your own brain surgery.

Did you deposit the money into an escrow account and get title insurance?

Unbelievable.

Go to the county recorders office and record the deed to the house in your name.

Then contact a REAL ESTATE ATTOURNEY to ensure that you are not being taken to the cleaners.

You paid for a house without receiving clear title at closing ??? NOT a good move on your part at all. You may well need the services of a good real estate attorney in this one, and I wish you the best of luck in your situation.
