This question is sparked by my recent viewing of some Jimi Hendrix videos on YouTube. Almost EVERY comment on the board was people arguing who THEY thought was better or worse. I wish people could just get along. Why do we fight so much? Why can't we just respect each other's opinions?

Well, remember, humars are, basically, animals! If you read your history, if you trace your genealogy, the people alive today are descended from the most violent of the most violent! So, "arguing" (sounds as though it is "quarelling") seems rather mild.

Not every person as thought before they talked or actually learned that arguing and disrespecting others view is not the way to go.

For me personally I really do not care who is the best at one thing or the other. I do think that maybe it has got to do with the fact that some people see an attack on their favourite football player or their favourite movie as an attack on their views and therefore an attack on them as individuals.

Arguing over who is the best at something isn't the disaster
waiting to happen that you think it is. This type of argument is
actually fun and doesn't polarize anyone.
By the way, Chet Atkins is the best.

There are way TOO many candidates for the "worst" of something. A caterory nobody wants to win, even thought there is great competition.

People all have different opinions. You can respect other people's opinion while maintaining your own different one. Many people like competition and debate. They like to prove each other wrong and express their ideas.

it gets on my nerves too . thats how ppl are they think theyre the king or queen like im sayin they want to let this person believe that person for example u see two guys and a girl one says she is nice lookin no she is not i say shes not u have to go for what i say thats how ppls personality is hope it helped u
