Depends on the mood of the picture. Warmer colors to express warmth/power/etc, cooler colors for energy/joy/etc.

But ultimately, the colors could change depending on the shades. D:

Also, if I had symbolism in the pic, I'd try to pick a color that represents that.

Don't get bent out of shape on this one. Your child is still interpreting how she sees the world. Remember biology 101? You see the world upside down and your brain interprets it the proper way. Since coloring and drawing is new to her, she has to incorporate this new skill.

Red, blue, and yellow are the primary colors. I could get almost any other color from those.
