I am looking for the real carriage house garage doors not the imitation ones. I need them to swing open. I want to remove my existing garage doors which open to the top. Do companies take old garage doors in good condition as trade in?
Thanks

Try Clingerman garage doors. They can offer you a style/wood material that can fit into your budget. They build both overhead and swing out garage doors. If you are trying to keep costs down I would recommend getting a paint grade Pine swing door. Here is a link to their website....

No, they don't take doors as trade in. You might be able to get some money from a salvage company (Lumber Used in the yellow pages)
Be warned that putting swinging doors on a structure built with overhead doors in mind is likely to lead to problems, expecially if they are authentic and heavy wood and not fiberglass filled with insulation. The load on an overhead door is almost straight down and places little torque on the door frame. Wide heavy swinging doors need a good amount of wall with good bracing to keep from racking the building frame and having the center of the doors tilt down.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/GCaXc
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.
