your wheel needs centered and only an alignment man can do that correctly by adjusting the tie rod sleeves.

If this is something that happened out of blue, then I'd be worried. Something was bent, something came lose, etc, etc, etc. There is no telling what is going to happen.
BUT, if this is something that has been going on for a while, then it is more than likely an alignment problem. Your car can still drive straight but alignment can be off. It won't hurt anything if you drive for a while, other than it can cause premature and uneven wear on your tires. I'd suggest getting it looked at soon, but it isn't an emergency.

i think your problem is just the steering wheel uncentered. All you need to do is, bring it to the nearest wheel alignment center and ask them to compensate your steering. This happens to me also and all i did is compensate the steering. If your car still runs straight when you let go of your steering wheel, that mean your alignment is ok. No worries.

Nothing to worry about as far as safety. When a vehicle is given an 'alignment', they are suppose to CENTER the steering wheel before making any alignments, and if they do not do that...an off-center steering wheel is the result. Does not create any problems other than visual and awkwardness.

Ive been driving like that for a while it should be an easy alignment adjustment but you might also need to replace a part (hopefully not). I am waiting for more parts before i take mine to get it fixed so try to go as soon as possible

It depends on how it got that way, doesn't it? Usually it's not a problem, but usually they get off center because you have to disturb the alignment to install a new tie rod or some other wear part.

Sounds like your car is out of alignment. No, it won't hurt it to drive it like that for a little bit. But it's better for your tire wear if you get it fixed.

Stop driving the car NOW, have it towed to a shop. There is something very wrong with the car! EDIT: are you saying the road was wet? If it was then I amend to get new tires, sounds more like the hydroplane thing.
