beacause they typically take a couple of years to make and perfect, not to mention all the technology that had to be developed to make the game itself. Many game studios work themselves to the bone to finish the game on time. Also, games provides typcially about 8-12 hrs of gaming, which i think is pretty good, since movies are seen once but cost like 10 bucks for only 2.5 hrs of entertainment. Even the snacks are overpriced!!!!

The standard video games that come out for consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PS3 cost $59.99 when they first come out, but Special Edition games are the ones that cost more money. For example, Grand Theft Auto 4 Special Edition costs $89.99, and the Special Edition of Assassins creed was $69.99.

It's costs more money to develop games on newer and advanced consoles, plus the PS3 uses Blu-Ray DVD's and Blu-Ray dics are more expensive than standard DVD.

The only game that I've paid more than 80 bucks for was Grand Theft Auto 4 when I preordered the Special Edition version of the game for my PS3, plus I had to pay $10 extra dollars for shipping. But I think that it was worth every penny.

For the time you spend with them, they are underpriced. Plus look back 25 years to the Atari. Those games were $30 (in 1980s money), and were typically written by one person in about 3 weeks. Modern games have massive staffs that spend years on them. FF12 was 200 people for 5 years. That's one huge budget!
