Political Punk Rock?

Question

Ok, why is it that people never diss bands like Rage Against the Machine or Anti-Flag for being political, but they diss Green Day?

It doesn't really make sense to me...

An artist hitting out at others doesn't makes sense to me at all.

I mean, who on earth do they think they are to judge others? Green Day success speaks for itself.

I don't listen to RAM and I don't even know who's Anti Flag is, and am not interested in knowing them.

Okay, I don't mean that. Green Day is good. But not as good, they aren't past the point of songs about love and depression. In turn, they are denied the right to make actual music. And anyway, a lot more young kids listen to them, and that'd be killing off half of our potential enlisters, if some little green haired, spiked cuff wearing group lets out the "secret" of our corrupt government.

Green Day is not punk rock. That's what they're going for, but they're not there.

Rage Against the Machine is not punk rock either. They're rapcore/alternative metal.

because Green Day started making really crappy music. And.. they're easy to make fun of.
Rage doesnt suck.. and Anti-Flag are badasses.
Green Day has no backbone.
(oh yeah, and I agree with the above answer. the last part. Green Day poses as a punk rock band and they're no where near being close to the sound of punk rock and it's annoying of them to try to trick the public into thinking THAT's what punk is. I guess) it's hard to explain.
they have an annoying style, an annoying voice and they can barely play their instruments
old green day was cool though. and sometimes it's nice to sit and cry to green day. not that I have... but maybe one day I will! dammit!
