What do you suppose the line up will be if he does and who gets the boot from first base...Andy Phillips or Giambi?

It would be fantastic having him in pinstripes. It will also cause a major blow to the Red Sux for loosing someone so valuable to their most hated rivals. It would be fun to watch Lowell play 1st Base, Cano at 2nd, Jeter at SS, and A-Rod at 3rd, Posada at C.

The line up would be like this...

1.) Johhny Damon DH
2.) Derek Jeter SS
3.) Bobby Abreu RF
4.) Alex Rodriguez 3B
5.) Mike Lowell 1B
6.) Hideki Matsui LF
7.) Jorge Posada C
8.) *Robinson Cano 2B
9.) *Melky Cabrera CF

*With Giambi...

8.) Giambi DH
9.) Robinson Cano 2B

**It depends where Giambi will play DH or Not
**Most likely Giambi will be the Pinch Hitter (50% of the time)

Damon LF
Jeter SS
Abreau RF
Arod 3B
Batsui DH
Posada C
Lowell 1B
Cano 2B
Melky CF

Nobody is "getting the boot" from first since nobody really has the position yet. That's an impressive lineup, assuming Lowell can hit well at Yankee Stadium. He doesnt have to duplicate last year though. But he does have to hit better then Minky. Giambi will share DH and some 1B. Philips might get traded. If the Yankees get Lowell, it hurts the Sox two ways. The lose TWO potential 3B. Arod and Lowell.

EDIT FOR THE MAN WHO WILL NOT DIE:

The Yankees will NEVER go farther than the Sox again?
I'll take that action. Ya gotta love Sox bandwagoners. You can always count on them for a good laugh in the off season.

I wouldn't be opposed to Lowell playing for the Yankees. The lineup will probably look like this:

1. Johnny Damon DH
2. Derek Jeter SS
3. Bobby Abreu OF
4. Alex Rodriguez 3B
5. Hideki Matsui OF
6. Mike Lowell 1B
7. Robinson Cano 2B
8. Jorge Posada C
9. Melky Cabrera OF

While Lowell can be an RBI machine, Matsui is a better power hitter, which is why Matsui should bat 5th.

To the guy who responded that the Yankees will never go farther than the Red Sox ever again in history. you need to take a chill pill & a nap & face reality. I wouldn't put any bets on that if I were you. If Lowell sign with Yankees, it will be okay, but if re-signs with the Red Sox, Yankees will do just fine without Lowell

truthfully i wouldn't be surprised if this was just a scam by the yankees to try and get the redsox to pay more for him. leaving the redsox with less money to spend. i have a hard time believing the yankees would want to go older in there lineup. especially with lowell wanting a four year conract. well i heard this morning on espn lowell is signing with the redsox after all. i heard a 3 year $36 milloin contract.

I think that if Lowell does come to the Yankees that he should play third and move A-Rod over to first. The Yankees are going to have 10 year investment in A-Rod & they can't afford to have him getting all beat up playing third base.

According to a variety of reports today, the Yankees' interest in Lowell is said to be dropping quickly. So it's probably moot for the moment.

he would make them favorites i think. the guy is clutch and dependable on D.
line up-
1-damon LF
2-jeter ss
3-arod 3b
4-giambi dh
5-lowell 1b
6-abreu rf
7-posada c
8-cano 2b
9-cabrera cf

i would guess matsui or damon would be delt. thats a deadly line up. alot of potential there. with a half decent pitching staff thats a world series team. i was hoping cubs had a shot at arod. people dont appreciate what that guy does. GO CUBS!!!!
