Two questions... ones just to make it a legit hockey question

1) Whats your biggest fear?

Mines being on a boat. I love to fish, but I'm teriffied of being on a boat. And little insects...i dont like those.

2) Now that the first 20 games (for some teams) are played, what surprises you the most so far this season?

To answer your second question first, I'm kind of surprised by the start of the Sens. I knew they would be good but not this good. Columbus has been a pleasant surprise as well. I 'm surprised Tampa Bay is not better, didn't expect such a slow start there. Surprised Mc Cabe is still employed.

As far as fear goes, I can honestly say I no longer have any. I don't want to sound like some sort of macho idiot, but really, I have no reason to fear anything. Several years ago, I was found (thought to be) dead in my truck. Thanks to some very efficient people, (and one of those high power bug zapper thingys) I was resusitated and survived. This gives me an appreciation for life most people would not understand. In terms of death, my only fear would be the consequences on my wife, leaving her alone.

I really don't have a true fear, one that makes my heart stop. I do have a few few things that make my uneasy, Really high heights being one of them. I have been offered by a teammates to go skydiving with her(she does it competitively), I think of doing it just to get over it.
Next I really don't have any huge surprises. Maybe the Ducks having the "hangover" this long and The Sabres being this bad. Even losing whom they lost I still thought they had a decent shot at going somewhere. As for my Panthers. They are right about where I thought they would be at this time.

1. Earthquake (and we're talking about THE BIG ONE)

2. How poorly the Devils and Sabres are to start the season.

How poorly Kipper has been in net and how little Fleury has progressed in Pittsburgh.

How well Carolina has clicked as a team, especially the line of Brind'Amour, Williams, and Stillman.

How well the rookie class is playing especially the Chicago guns of Toews and Kane, Setoguchi of SJ, and Price of Montreal (which is a surprise in itself that they still play Huet).

And lastly how quickly we're already at the quarter mark of the season..........

My biggest fear is mimes.

First 20 games, Detroit because I thought they might have a bit of a dropoff early in the season because of the turnover in players, Columbus because I didn't think Hitchcock would make as much difference as he has.

The angst of fans of teams that have been mediocre so far has surprised me because, after all, it's only 20 games.

1) I'm not the type of person who's afraid of any of the "normal" things like heights, spiders, drowning, etc... I guess I'm afraid of losing my mother. It's inevitable, but something that's going to be hard for me one day.

2) Not so much as the Pittsburgh Penguins losing games... but how much they haven't clicked. They're a tight-knit group off the ice. They had some great chemistry last season, where Coach Michel Therrien could mix the lines up when he felt a change was needed for a certain situation or after a line had gotten "cold" and it would never take more than a game or two for the lines to jell.

My biggest fear is not death. My biggest fear is disease or being handicapped. I want to live my life to the fullest, and don't want anything getting in my way. I wake up every morning, get up, take a shower, and think, "I am really glad I have legs that work, and I don't have to go to chemotherapy today." I feel this way, because I have a brother with MD.

Biggest surprise: The Blues and the Kings.

lol isnt it funny how you say for the regulars & everyone just jumps in? haha

my biggest fear is.. well three of my biggest fear is bugs & insects(thats one!!). i mean i like animals but insects & all are just..creepy *shudders*. as LITY said, Death. yes, once i think about it, it scares the bejeejus out of me!! & going blind. the thought of not being able to see is just...frightning

what surprises me the most..hhmm. well i definitley thought the Leafs would be a bit better after getting Bell,Blake & Toskala. but not a HUGE improvement. Blake hasnt found his 'touch' yet & well Bell has only played 5 games so far but 23 PIM already. Carolina has surprised me a bit with their game & Buffalo doesnt look like the team that went to the Eastern Conference Finals last year. & same with NJ only they went to Semifinals.

1. Tape worms. I saw one in my cats litter box when I was really young... the image haunts me to this day

2. a) The central division. I thought maybe one of the bottom three teams would have a good year, not all of them.
b) The only time the Blackhawks could sell out in previous seasons was when Detroit came to town. Now, tomorrows game with Chicago playing in Detroit will likely be the only game the Wings have sold out this season.
c) Anaheim and San Jose are supposed to be elite teams, but neither of there records are very good.
d) Philly, Carolina, and Montreal.

1) Sharks. The ones in the ocean, not the ones in San Jose.

2) Kovalev showing jump, Drury on the 3rd line and Leclaire spending most of October on his head.
