Eric's Trip after a Sonic Youth song.
Rocket From The Crypt, based after Rocket From The Tombs.
Dinosaur Jr. had to add the Jr. when an older band named Dinosaur tried suing them.
Judas Priest took their name from Bob Dylan's "The Ballad of Frankie Lee & Judas Priest".

Then there's The Jon Cougar Concentration Camp and R.E.O. Speeddealer. These need no explanation.

I'm not positive about this, but when Syd Barrett and the members of Pink Floyd were just getting started, I believe they were called Megadeth. I don't even know if it was all of the members of Pink Floyd.. but I remember reading that somewhere. I found it pretty interesting.

Nirvana from the 60s Nirvana;or..I'm gonna go now..(mind blank from cooking 4 course dinner...)....*EDIT* Hommus,Tabouli and Falafel with pita bread and white wine,Next..scotch fillet steak wrapped in bacon baked in an oven with red wine/french onion soup mixture/plenty of mushrooms with a bottle of red..OZ,of course..a dessert of lemon syrup/coconut cake with home-made strawberry liquer..macadamia-flavoured coffee and 2 pints of Guinness to wash it all down with..since we got married in Cork,Ireland...Happy Anniversary,Che! Mostly..All home made..you can't buy this stuff in a restaurant,Man! And watch out for those bunya pine nuts...you gotta steep them for a while to get the toxins out! Hungry? It was a growl and a half ! And finished it all off with us miming/dance steps etc to Carmen Miranda's "Yi Yi Yi Yi Yi..I like you very much!" Haaah!

'Blue' was the name of a 1970's Scottish group, a 1980's duo, and then a boy band.
