Absolutely not; I think it's great to change your major when you realize that the one you are in is not for you. How smart is it to make a decision based on real experience? Iknow someone (extremely smart) who changed his major about five times and managed to finally get a degree. Actually I think if more people changed their major instead of being afraid, they would be happier in their final chosen profession. Good luck!

I switched my major three times and still got a degree within four years. If you are going to do it, just make sure it is in the first two years.

A change in major is never dumb...just make sure you are happy with what you choose -- you'll have to do it for the rest of your life :)

no way, i have swtiched my major many times (from chemistry to biochemistry to biology to toxicology), though they are all inter-related.
