Why haven't ALL of the monkies 'evolved' *cough cough* to become humans?

First off all, humans haven't evolved from monkeys. We share a common ancestor, a recent one, who was neither a human nor a monkey but very similar to both.

Anyway, you are assuming some sort of linear evolutionary path, i.e. everything evolves into a human, and so everything that ISN'T a human is "lesser evolved" and needs to become human. This view is incorrect. A more correct view would be a tree or a bush, where the trunk splits into many, many branches. Our common ancestor that we share with monkeys would be a branching point, and monkeys and humans are separate branches.

Therefore, humans do not come from monkeys, and monkeys will not turn into humans. A monkey is a fully evolved monkey, and a human is a fully evolved human.

They evolved into humans, but some of them became extinct while they were evolving. The rest evolved into the modenr day monkeys that live on.

One logical explanation is that there are hundreds of different monkeys. One particular type may have developed in a certain part of the world where a higher level of intellect was necessary to survive.

A species must learn to adapt to it's environments.

It's because Peter Tork, Mickey Dolnez, and Davy Jones won't go away. Oh, wait a minute, that's spelled Monkees.

Sigh. The plural form of "monkey" is "monkeys," not "monkies."

Looks as if you still haven't evolved, you pea brain.

Who said that?

People take little bits of something and give it a life of it's own.

Stop with the monkeys. If you're talking about Darwinism.....read all of it.

I don't think they said that humans came from monkies. i think it's more accurately that humans and monkies came from a common ancestor.
