I've only heard Mad Season's "River of Deceit", but it was great. I love that song!

I consider the Trans-Siberian Orchestra to be a supergroup. Inspired by Savatage ("Gutter Ballet" and "Edge of Thorns"), the band is a collection of supremely-talented musicians. With Mark Wood, Alex Skolnick of Testament, Chris Caffery, Jeff Plate of Metal Church, and a ton of talented singers.

Well seems like the only two supergroups that comes to mind for me.
The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison (Beatles), Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne (ELO) and Roy Oribson. I have The Travleing Wilburys Volume 1 and 3.
I have Asia's Asia which I got from the blog that I'm becoming very fond of.

EDIT:
Darth- Just started listening to Asia, I'm loving them, but I need more time to determine how much I love them.

Asia
Lard / Pailhead / Revolting Cocks
Pigface
Electronic (Johnny Marr, Bernard Sumner)
The Breeders
Sugar

Would you consider Desert Sessions a "supergroup"?
Now that Patricia Morrison (Gun Club, Sisters of Mercy) plays bass for the Damned, does that qualify? lol

in most cases, the original bands are superior the the mingling of their members *cough* Audioslave *cough*

Darth: touche!

how soon is now: agree on the Glove

super groups, sometimes fail, sometimes not. i really depends on who the musicians are. if most/some of there intial projects were awful (creed) then thats what will happen even with a new singer (alter bridge)

my favorite is Fantomas, with Mike Patton (see above =] ), Trevor Dunn (solo work, Mr Bungle), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), and King Buzzo (the Melvins).

this was my 4000th answer =]
