I remember an old Oriental proverb. It went something like this, " he that does not learn from his mistakes is destined to repeat them ". I guess one of the important things would be realizing that some things that we have done in our lives were mistakes. Some of the things that we do in our lives ( that we might consider to be mistakes ) are things that hurt us. Unfortunately, some of the things that we do hurt other people. I try really hard not to hurt any innocent people around me. I can only hope and pray that I have succeeded in my efforts.

Yes but that doesn't stop me from making the same mistakes again. old habbits die hard.
I learn from the mistake but I don't put that lesson that I learned into practice until I feel I'm ready.

I try too. But sometimes I just insist on doing the same stupid crap a couple of times before I learn. Usually though when I say "I'll never do that again" it means I've finally gotten it.
