I'm 52 now and fairly sprightly, but I was wondering when men have to discard trendy clothes and start to wear a cap and zip-up jacket - which seams to be the uniform of old blokes.

You dont have to follow suit, i know a lot of men over 50s that still dress very fashionable wearing clothing from highstreet stores and fashionable branding.

Alot of old men do this for their own comfort more than concern of what colour is in today!

Whenever you start to feel foolish and not before - I used to despair of my Dad who wore a shirt and tie all his life - even on holiday. But I did have a great Aunt who was wearing incredibly badly put on make up at a very late age and that was a little disconcerting

nothing looks worse or more daft than a 'mature' gent wearing a baseball cap..(it might be ok in USA..but..welll)

never if you don't want to. if you feel OK, and look nice in whatever trendy thing you want, then keep it up! but when you start to look like an old fart in a teenagers wardrobe, that's the time to re-think your clothing.

why conform? be yourself.
