Or is it just creepy to see someone that detached?

This is a relative sort of thing...we all have some base of logic and some emotionality....and for balance and stability we need some of both....often times the ones who substitute logic in the realm of emotions do so in an arrogant manner as if there is something inherently inferior in emotionality...and their self righteousness and superiority become overbearing and offensive...In those cases....I sense that they are folks who will not, cannot or dare not touch their own emotionality...and as I know that emotionality is an inherent part of being human....I consider them handicapped....so I try to have compassion for them in the same manner that I do for other impaired individuals....But indeed it is the touch of arrogance that "drives one nuts" and makes the compassion a bit difficult to conger up.....

...a further comment on this issue is the difference in this balance that we see between men and women....traditionally men are more logical and women more emotional....but within us all there are levels of masculinity as well as femininity...both are needed for a balanced response to life....we are fortunate to live at a time when we are free to explore and develop both of these realms within ourselves....and to do so in a manner that does not see one or the other as superior or inherently flawed....but rather as complementary segments of the eternal circle....Yin and Yang...and I would say to you Dear Tiger that if such "detached logic" is driving you nuts....it is just reflective of your ability to balance your inherent feminitity rather than deny and reject it.....someday...when we are all more balanced....we will no longer look at these realms as masculine or feminine...but just as Human.....

I love how other people are so freaked out by your avatar, but we're so used to it, it's normal.

Ummmm, I'm actually not sure what emotinal subjective or logical objective is.

I know the meanings of the words seperately but not so sure together.

All I can think that logical objective would mean, is an answer to a question without heart - in this case, an answer to an emotional question without heart.

It's good to have an outside view that isn't involved in all the emotions that you are feeling - it gives you a different type of answer to a problem. You could be all caught up in emotions - but this person can disconnect you from your emotions to look at it from an outside view.

I guess you need both types of people in the world........

At least I attempted to answer your question ahahah. I feel like i'm back at school.....in a test.....and i have no idea what the questions asking.

It doesn't necessarily mean the person who answers is "detached." On the contrary, often, people who ask emotional questions can be helped with objectivity in order to distance themselves a bit from their problem/s, & see with more clarity. I do this--only when I feel it's appropriate--& I've gotten many e-mails sincerely thanking me for my help.
It's the logical questions that are answered subjectively, are misinformed or just nonsense that are...well, not creepy...but certainly over the top.

Edit: Thanks phil8656. You make a valid point. I hope you also see mine?

Oops! Maybe I'm guilty your Honor. But I learned long ago that it's usually beneficial to be logical and objective, even about emotional issues. That's doesn't mean one is unaffected. Simply that one is using the whole of the mind, and not only the bit that's jerking on strings. Seems to pay, for all concerned. Far less uproar; far more effective action.

Personally, I feel logical objective view from a third party is the best if one is not able to think straight because of his tangled emotional loops....At least someone can view things as they ARE, not as they SEEM...think about it OBJECTIVELY and you'll see the light.

There is no answer to emotional subjective questions. When you allow your emotions to control you, your life becomes a never-ending drama. Good luck with that.
