Approx. 1.25in. from tip of abdomen to top of head
Wingspan: Approx.1.75in
Large eyes, curled antennae,black body, dark brown semi-transparent wings, first set slightly longer than the second.

Does anyone have a guess at the scientific or common name?

The following characteristics are necessary to identify your wasp. Venation. This is the pattern of the veins in the front wings, Leg characteristics, this is the number and form of the tibial and tarsal segments. Antenna characteristics. the type of ovipositor. There are other features that are much more difficult to use such as the tongue.
