Nobody else in VW has enough teeth to run for Senate.
Seriously, though; West Virginia elects Byrd because he's a 'Southern' - i.e. conservative - Democrat. As in, the kind that wants the guvmint to stay the hell away from his still, quit taxin' him to death and quit encouraging those uppity n*****s. He used to be in the Klan and has not abandoned those attitudes.
Once Byrd finally dies, West Virginia is as likely to elect a Republican as another Democrat.

Byrd is not liberal on most socials issues and he is a champion at bringing home pork. After Montana, West Virginia has the interstate highway with the least amount of traffic I have ever seen. He also got thousands of FBI jobs moved to there.

Because Byrd was a Grand Wizard of the KKK, and the Good Ole Boys in WV want a Klan member in the Senate.

You are talking about my own home state. I was born and raised in the city of Huntington, WV. I haven't lived there since 1984, but I can't believe that my state would support Bush. It is a pro union state, after all, and as far as I know, it is not one of the few states that is seeking to comply with the Real ID act. *sm*

I do not know. I would like to know how many black men he helped lynch and how many crosses he burned in peoples yards. I have lived in the south all of my life and if there is anything that I cannot tolerate it is the KKK.
