Basically the UN pays no attention to the past where members are concerned.
That or they are really desperate to fill commission seats.
Take your pick.........but the world doesn't really seem to care
Examples:
The United Nations Human Rights Commission named Libya to to head the commission in 2003 and Iraq headed the
UN's committee on disarmament

Its no longer peacefull. yet that isn't the actual problem, extremely some worldwide places have nuclear weapons that we at the instant are not paranoid of, yet Iran has a stated place that Israel shouldn't exist and that given the prospect Iran would wreck Israel. that's what scares the U. S., being that Israel is an best pal. We pursued nuclear technologies and nevertheless do, we are the only usa to ever drop no longer one yet 2 bombs. So for us to disclaim a usa no longer our best pal to pursue nuclear is hypocritical and between the justifications we've a no longer ordinary time in international relatives. We additionally know that to flow to war would be a important war no longer in basic terms a low point conflict like Iraq, so we can't in basic terms bomb them to rubbish. i do no longer prefer Iran to have a nuclear weapon, yet our important weapon, our protection stress we're not keen to apply, and Iran is easily-known with that. I worry that sanctions will in basic terms serve to make Iran extra obdurate and desperate interior the long-term. The religous clerics extremely run that usa, no longer the reasonable standard Iranian.

It was difficult to deny Egypt a place on the Human Rights Council - the country sought membership and had a voting bloc supporting it. Also helping the situation is that the Egyptian Government made pledges to the UN prior to the elections, which include commitments in the field of human rights domestically and internationally. Also Egypt pledged to help strengthen the capacity of the council (meaning help them achieve their objectives).

The Egyptian is an Arab. Iran is populated by Persians. Egypt signed a peace agreement with Israel nearly thirty years ago. Iran does not even recognize Israel's existence and the President of Iran has publicly stated his desire to blow Israel off the map.
Gamal Abdel Nasser is dead. So is Shah Raza Palavi. There is no bond of anti-Israeli fervor between the Arabs and the Persians. So, I don't see the danger you see.

I might say the same to you. Egypt also has a relationship with the West. If the 'watchers' ae purely western it is easier for Iran to say it is Western prejudice or bullying etc.
I think you might be casting aspersions on Egypt. What if it was the USA, can they be trusted?
(edit) What Crumb, you fool? That's the attitude that has made America a hated country (whether or not it is deserved). You need to keep your gung-ho nonsense in check.

No one profits if Iran goes Nuclear.
In fact, I'd like to see the US invade Iran and wreak havok, if only if they would make sure Iran was not making an A- Bomb. At the same time, it is high time we all give up making nukes, or even Nuclear energy. Just a big waste.

Iran's development of nuclear capability is just as ominous to Egypt, as it is to Israel.
I see nothing here that would suggest the Wolf. and the hen house scenario.

I think that, as long as the UN Members feel good about themselves, very little else is of any appreciable consequence . . . Don't you agree? :D

As an American, i would like to see Iran go Nuclear.
Than they can contend with the area.. i say its high time we let the middle east be the middle east.. they can sort out the mess themselfs, i highly doubt they need us there telling them how to govern themselfs....
(HELLO ISREAL HAS NUKES!!)
