Lately, the news has been very grim.

I try not to listen to it on a daily basis.

And to make matters worse, the number of foreclosures is skyrocketing daily.

So that means, Americans will no longer be watching the news in the privacy of their own homes, they'll be listening to it in their cars.

Lest the repoman doesn't haul the vehicles away, while Americans sleep.

I do believe that the more news one views the more depressed a person gets, because there is so much negativity in news reports. The good things never out weigh the bad. It is very depressing to find that someone has died or committed a murder or raped someone whenever I turn to a news channel. When will we ever have peace on Earth?????

Absolutely, though that's mainly given that the "news" focuses so much more on negative stories than on positive ones. Repeated exposure to nothing but or mostly negative stories (bad or concerning news) affects us profoundly. Maintaining a positive focus requires that we get a healthy dose of the positive every now and then...but wouldn't it be something if the "news" just for once was entirely positive!?

Things are no worse today than they were 150 years ago! We now have better technology to reveal disease and instant world-wide media. That's it. Would you prefer to live in ignorance and die of an unknown disease at 30?
