is i really up to "the people" when experts like chairman martin has been appointed to achieve news consolidation? do you even know anything about what is going on?

Chairman Martin is not an expert...he is a 'plant', selected to head the FCC and protect the interests of media conglomerates instead of the people.
If you truly believe more media consolidation is a good thing, you are overwhelmingly naive. I used to work for one of the largest media conglomerates (Gannett) and I can tell you the less independent ownership there is within the media, the less independent, balanced and unbiased reporting you will see.
Once a small group of large media moguls owns all of the newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations and other media outlets, they will be able to control what we - as citizens - are told. That is only one step away from citizens then being told what to believe, what to think and what to do. -RKO- 11/17/07
