Hi Debauche-interesting screen name!
I've got an answer, although it is strictly my own opinion.
If you think about it, when males make friends (who are usually other men), it's because they have an interest in common - maybe they work together or are neighbors, or like the same sports.
On the other hand, women tend to be far more social creatures & have more friends of BOTH sexes than men do - which brings me to my other point.....
In general, men with active lives spend far less time on the computer "chatting" with contacts, than women do.
IF we do so at all, it's usually not to find out what our pal Joe Schmo is up to!
Far more often, it's only BECAUSE we have female friends or dating prospects (hopefully not the latter in your case!) on our contact lists that we are taking time to do this in the first place!
What do you think?

Honestly, I keep in good touch with my male friends. This is just because I feel women can be competitive with each other so most of my guy friends are more laid back and don't have to be so uptight around their female friends. I believe men can be the same way sometimes, they can feel threatened by each other and their manliness so they resort to making friends with the opposite sex. This is all perfectly normal behavior because it's much of seeking acceptance without being judged and so the opposite sex is usually willing to judge us but we don't take it too personally because we feel they don't quite hit us in the right matter that our same sexes would. Plus they can relate to us in relationship and friendship matters that we can't understand with our own genders.

I have two or three that are male, but it's true that most contacts are the opposite sex. I don't know why this is, though.
Well, since you're my significant other, you tell me what it is that made you want to be my contact. *bats eyelashes*

Sure looks like it on mine. Does the fact that this is true of your boyfriend make you jealous? You shouldn't let it get to you if all he's doing with them is answering their questions which he finds interesting.

Too early to tell. I only have two, and they are both females. So, I guess the answer to your question is yes.
