Good question. It's possible for people living in poverty to become rich, just not probable. On average, people who live in poverty work longer hours than people in the middle and upper classes. So poor people aren't poor because they don't work hard. The reason for their poverty has more to do with the type of jobs that are available to them.

There are several factors that could help poor people in general become rich, but each of them have some problems. Here are a few examples:

- Getting an education - poor people who get good educations are usually able to make it out of poverty. But college costs money, and poor people don't have a lot of it. Also, college isn't for everyone. There are intelligent and less-intelligent people on all parts of the economic spectrum, from the super-rich to the homeless. The difference, though, is that rich people can stay rich even if they aren't smart enough for college. Poor people usually don't have that luxury.

- Become a sports start - There are literally hundreds of athletes who worked their way up from poverty to become rich and famous. Unfortunately, there are millions of people in poverty, and only a tiny percentage of them can become rich and famous athletes.

- Find a community that can help you - this option is the most promising for recent immigrants. For example, China towns in many cities have a good reputation for helping recent immigrants find jobs and get good educations.

How Poor People Become Rich

Yes , but the probability of doing so depends on what country you live in. In the developed world even children in poverty have enough to eat, medical care when they are sick, and go to school. In much of the world this is not the case, and if you suffer from malnutrition and have no education, your chances of becoming rich is very very small. But no matter where you live you are likely to have an income only a little more than your parents.

Definitely.
Our way of doing that is to study really hard, get a government scholarship.
Study in some prestigious university overseas for 7 years.
Come back and work for the government for say, 15 years.
Become the CEO of said company or go into politics and earn mega bucks. You can become rich. CEOs in Singapore earn at least a million every year.
That's how a lot of the rich people made it in Singapore.
