The First and Fourteenth Amendments to the US Constitution prohibit the federal, state, and local government from banning your flying of your country's flag, if you are in the US. However, there may be condominium, homeowner's associatin, or apartment rules against it where you live. Condos, associations, and apartments do not have to obey those amendments because they are not government entities.

You can indeed fly your birth country's flag in your own front yard. If you want to fly your birth country's flag AND the United States flag, they need to be at the SAME height. DON'T fly one above the other on the same rope, since that is a signal of conquest and is considered to be an act of war if you do so within the territory of the flag on the bottom.

Not knowing what country you are speaking about I will assume you mean that you live in the US and may want to fly the flag of another country. The simple answer is yes you may and the law does not require you to put the American Flag on top but doing the opposite may create some outrage. This is America and that gives you protection of freedom of speech (First Amendment) and you can do what you want with your flag.....

Thanks,

In the U.S. you have the right to raise any flag you want to in your own yard (unless it is obscene). It is considered proper flag protocol to put the United States flag higher than any other country or state flag, but you can do whatever you want. That doesn't mean people won't be hateful about it, but no law says you can't put any flag, sign, or whatever else you want to in your own yard.

Hard to understand your question. If it's "your own house" then you must be raising the flag of the country the house is in ....so yes...of course.

But if you consider "your country" to be somewhere else, then you can raise that flag, but out of respect for the country you are in , that country's flag should be on top.

In USA you may raise another national flag provided the US flag flies at a higher position.

Sure! Why not!

If people have NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt flags flowing in the breeze, I'm sure that of your country can flow as well.

Well, you can.. There is no law against it, but its not a safe world any more.
There are all kinds of people that don't want
people from other countries to live in the U.S, so I would keep in mind , it could also cause trouble.
