What do you think of the new rule of no more open write-ins allowed. So no more vote for Rory campaign. Me i think it is pretty dumb

Last year Canucks fans as well as others voted for 4th liner Rory Fitzpatrick to the allstar game.

I think the Rory Campaign was dumb but as u said it its what the fans want and if it is not someone as outrageous as Rory Fitzpatrick then im completely fine with it

I think it's a great rule. When you consider that the vast majority (93% apparently) of Rory's votes came from just 37 PC's, you realize that the system needed to be modified.
37 fans wanted Rory in the All-Star game - I don;t think that's enough to get there

^^^ Rory Fitpatrick. I think it is a good rule (one I was not aware of) but it prevents a farce like the whole Rory campaign from happening.
After Miller was voted the starting goalie for last year's game, I openly questioned whether fans should have any say at all but I suppose, it is an exhibition game for the fans so it is what it is.
Why do you think it is dumb? Had Fitzpatrick made the team (which he almost did), it is a mockery and at the same time taking a deserving player's spot and perhaps making him lose bonus money etc.

We really brought this on ourselves because of the Rory campaign. I'm not a fan of it, but it was the right thing to do.

Has anyone voted yet? I did and you can still select any player you want. All are listed even some lesser skilled players getting 2-3 minutes per night. You get to omit one from the list of forwards, defence or the goalie if you choose from the general list. if you want Staal you can vote for him
