where can i find a coupon rate for a long term IBM bond? or any website where i can find this info.

You can call a broker and they should be able to assist you. Coupon rates are only for bonds not stocks. There is a website bondsonline.com that may be able to help.

Coupon rates are on bonds, not stocks. Bonds are kind-of like a long term CD. With a CD your lending your money to the bank, and in return they are paying you interest. With a bond your lending your money to a corporation, or a municipality, and they are paying you interest payments for the money you lended them. Stocks do not have a coupon rate, but some do have a dividend yield. I would call your local brokerage firm to find out what the coupon rate is. It depends on when the bond was issued, and a broker should be able to look that up.

Try this for starters. Open an Excel Workbook. Go to functions and drag down on the arrow next to the Sigma > more functions > financial > YIELD.

You will need to know several things such as rate, settlement, face value, etc.
