ok so US will soon allow canadians to show drivers licenses as i.d instead of passports at the border and i was wondering...

what type of law would this fall under? contract? administrative? constitutional?

The U.S. really seems to have no idea exactly what it is going to do. One of the arguments here is N.Y State has to do with the so-called "secure" and scannable driver's licenses which would be acceptable proof for border crossings of this sort.

I gave up on waiting for them to make up their minds, such as they are, and went ahead with getting a passport.
