Here are some possibilities:
French braid.
Pull the sides up into a barrette in the back.
Curl it into ringlets all over.
Just do it the way you normally do.
Have a great time at the dance!

since its church u might want someting casual yet cute. if ur hair curls easy add some loose curls to ur head. especially around the face. after u curl it, u could b set and go or use some pins and fasten it up in a loose bun. remember to add some gel and scrunch a little if u do. and leave a side part in ur hair if u do put it up and leave some bangs down if u have any.

Pull half of it back. If you have bangs leave them down. Or if your hair is slightly longer in front than back, leave a few small portions of it out.
Oh, or Pull it back into a ponytail, but poof the top up a little. Like this:

pull the front part of your hair (where bangs would be) twist it and pin it in a little bump
