Realistically I wish that I had saved to make purchases rather than charging anything other than big ticket items like my home or a car.
When I think of the $$ I have paid in interest over the years - I could cry!
I am almost out of debt now & the freedom that gives is awesome. I have a house payment and not a lot longer to go on it!
I have repeatedly told my daughter the advantages of not charging, but to save & pay cash.
I also ask her to please discuss charge purchases with me. At least this way we can find her the best rates, terms etc until she learns the art of negotating.

Before ansewring your Q, I'll relate a true story AND an anecdote:
TRUE STORY: When I was about 8, 9 or 10, I wished for something or I wished I could do something or I wished one of my terrific aunts would come home so we could do something.
I said my "wish" loud enough for my wonderful Grandmom to hear. She stopped what she was doing (making bread, I think), took-off her apron and washed her hands. In a very sweet, matronly way, she took me by the hand and led me to the living room. Grandmom sat in Grandpop’s chair and pulled me very close.
As though she was telling me a secret, she said softly, “I’m going to tell you two things I think are important enough for you to know. Number 1, I love you. No matter what you say or what you do, I‘ll always love you.”
I was playing with my hands, looking down at them. I glanced up and looked at her smiling face. I said, “I love you too, Grandmom.” She said, “Yes, I know that. And number 2: Wish in one hand and pee in the other - then see which one gets filled first!”
We hugged. She hugged me a lot harder than I hugged her. She went to the kitchen. I continued whatever I wasn’t doing.
ANECDOTE: On Election Day this year, a Q similar to yours was asked by a lady at the polls. My answer to her was the same I'm giving to you:
"I wish I was about 30 years young AND KNOW what I KNOW today!"
She said, "But, Mr. Berue, you know that's not possible."
My reply was, "You asked a hypothetical question - I merely gave you my real answer!"
To answer your Q: I never knew how much fun it was to trade.
Frustrating at times? ABSOLUTELY!
BUT when I chat with other folks in our trading room, our meetings and our group, there's a friendship, a common goal - to earn money! AND to take that money we earn to help others who are less fortunate!
Thanks for asking your Q!
VTY,
Ron

I wish I knew more about how credit works and how to better protect myself from Identity thieves! Go to my website and read it all! I couldn't make up what happened to me if I tried!
If you get anything out of my website, I hope it would be to check your credit often and take your score seriously enough to protect yourself!
